My two-cents on the Brave sexuality debate.

It’s none of our goddamn business.

Sure, she may be a fictional character, and her sexuality is “open to question”, but that doesn’t mean we all have the right to say what she may or may not be because does it honestly matter?

It’s rather rude to do the same to actual people, you know.

She could be straight, she could be gay, she could be something inbetween, hell, she could be ace, but it doesn’t matter. 

We are not our sexual identities, it’s not nearly the most important thing about us, and, by thinking we are, I feel like we do ourselves a great injustice.

Maybe I just feel this way because I really identify with Merida and rarely confirm my sexuality to people. I prefer to keep things ambiguous, because it’s not the vast majority of people’s business.
